Freedom Flotilla Fundraiser

United Ireland for Palestine

Our goal is to raise €32,000 to help fund the costs of the 'Shireen' - a women-crewed Irish Legal Support boat organised by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition Ireland.
The Shireen set sail in early September - with human rights lawyers, legal observers & medics on board - and is presently accompanying the Global Sumud flotilla, as well as the upcoming Freedom Flotilla Coalition & 1000 Madleens flotilla & others due to sail in the coming months. The Shireen is a vessel of witness & solidarity, named after the assassinated, beloved Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

Funds raised will go towards the running costs of the present and upcoming missions- for fuel, food & water, long-term mooring costs, AIS, sail repairs & a new storm sail, a new motor for the dinghy etc.

'Ní neart go cur le chéile' - with the entire island united we can reach this target.

'The Shireen'

The vessel we are raising funds for is an Irish Legal Support boat, with human rights lawyers, legal observers & medics who have worked in Gaza on board as support for the Global Sumud flotilla & Freedom Flotilla Coalition. These presently include barristers Leigh Brosnan & Gemma McLoughlin Burke, MEP Lynn Boylan, and psychotherapist and human rights campaigner Caoimhe Butterly. The vessel, named after the assassinated Palestinian journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, is currently sailing with the Global Sumud Flotilla to break the siege of Gaza and will be joining similar upcoming sea missions. The Shireen is a women-crewed boat of witness & solidarity, organised by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition Ireland.
